In this post we will focus on Guard Sport suspenders. To make it easier we will describe to you as simply as possible how to go through this process painlessly ;). We have reduced the number of dimensions to a minimum, so we will only need the circumference of the neck and chest. You will find a detailed description below.
What will you need ?
– A tailor’s centimeter or, in its absence, a string and a tape measure,
– Something to note the results,
– A calm, upright dog 😉
The measure should be removed in two places :
A – Neck circumference, at the height of the collar, that is, halfway up the neck , as close to the skin as possible,
B – C – Body length – measure from the height at the withers (the point between the shoulder blades) to the root of the tail,
D – You will also need your dog’s current weight.
To be sure that the measurement is taken off correctly, you should take the measurement several times and choose the most repeated result. A very important measurement is the neck circumference, because this measurement determines whether the harness will fit well in the most important place protecting the upper part of the shoulder blade, the top of the sternum and the sternum itself. In the case of Guard Sport harnesses, how well the neck is measured still determines whether the harnesses will lie firmly without twisting.
As always we would like to sensitize you that the measurements in the table are not the dimensions of the harness, but of the dog. If the downloaded measurement does not fit any of the sizes write us a message, every dog is different so we will help with the right selection if in doubt.
Below is an example of Guard Sport harness sizing for Imari. The harnesses shown in the picture have an additional safety strap, if you choose the option of an additional strap you do not need to take an additional measurement for it.
Her measurements are :
A (neck circumference) 39 cm
B (chest circumference) 65 cm
D (weight) 19.5 kg
The size that suits her is S slim.
